The event was witnessed by media,dignitaries, airport employees and local supporters who held theirbreath as they awaited the arrival of the Boeing 747-200F operated bySouthern Air Inc. As the aircraft touched down on the newlyexpanded 11,450 ft runway, a loud cheer could be heard from thecrowd \u2013 even above the roaring engines of such a large freighter. Itwas a day of celebration for everyone involved.<\/p>\n<p>Allied Aviation, operating as Airconsol Aviation Services ULC, was able to provide a number ofdifferent operational support services on November 17th, 2009. As the \u201cAuthorized Dealer\u201d for ShellCanada, the local operation provided fuel services for the cargo aircraft that day as well as FBOservices and ground handling support. Having many different operational aspects in Prince Georgeenables Allied Aviation to handle a wide variety of aircraft types and services.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2470 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/dhk.fc9.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/pr-yxs-2-300x226.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alliedaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/pr-yxs-2-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alliedaviation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/pr-yxs-2.jpg 472w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Since commencing services at the Prince George Airport onOctober 19th, 2007, Allied Aviation has been working closely withthe Prince George Airport Authority to ensure the successfuldevelopment of this location. With the recent completion of arunway extension project which brought runway 15\/33 up to 11,450feet long by 150 feet wide, the airport is now the proud owner ofCanada\u2019s third longest runway.<\/p>\n<p>The Prince George Airport is located in Northern British Columbia,Canada and on the great circle route between major Asian and USairports. Due to the airport&#8217;s strategic location geographically, the airport is an ideal alternative forsafety, weather or congestion issues experienced at traditional cargo and tech stop airports.
