Allied Aviation History at IAH

Allied has managed the fuel system and into-plane operations at Intercontinental Airport of Houston (IAH) now known as George Bush Intercontinental Airport), since 1969. The airport at that time had two terminals A and B plus a ramp area designated for cargo traffic.

Over the years, the Houston area continued to grow and so did the airport as well as Allied’s commitment to assist in this growth. As passenger traffic continued to grow and the dominance of Continental Airlines as the home base, the airport added terminals C, D and most recently E. These additional terminals were constructed to handle the demand for increased domestic traffic as well as international traffic with destinations in South and Central America, Europe, Asia and the Far East.

Allied played an integral part in the expansions of the fuel system that supplied jet fuel to these new terminals via underground hydrant systems. In addition to these fuel distribution systems, Allied also assisted in new jet fuel storage tanks that have added an additional 200% to IAH’s storage capacity over the years.
