MIRABEL AIRPORT (YMX)
Services

Allied Aviation History at YMX:
The unprecedented growth of the aviation industry in the1960’s prompted the Canadian Government to create a new airport north of Montreal called Mirabel International Airport. Allied was instrumental in the designing and construction of the Tank Farm and the hydrant fuel system at Mirabel. The inauguration of Mirabel coincided with the 1976 Olympics which were held in Montreal that year and Allied Aviation serviced visitors from around the world at both Mirabel and Dorval Airports. By the 1990’s the decline of aviation growth meant that Montreal could only sustain one passenger airport. By the early 2000’s all passenger flights were relegated back to Dorval and only cargo traffic remained at Mirabel.
Although the airport has downsized in recent years, CAFAS, continues to supply fuel facility management and into plane services for those airlines that continue to serve Mirabel.
